The Israeli Channel 10 programme Who Is Organising The Worldwide Hatred Of Israel Movement was I'm sure part of the Israeli culture of "We are the victims."
This is emphasised within the Israeli education system on a daily basis, making young Israelis believe that they are hated throughout the world because they are Jews, which would of course be anti-semitic. However this is a long way from the truth.
The boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement is against the zionist regime of Israel and its continued flouting of international law and the Geneva Convention, as well as its treatment of Palestinian citizens inside Israel and of approximately 11,000 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons, including women and children.
That's before we talk about Gaza and the crimes against humanity Israelis have carried out for a long time, not just since 2009.
Members of the BDS movement understand all too well the difference between settlement goods, which are illegal and dirty, and goods from within Israel, which are legal. We choose to boycott both and are at pains to explain to the public when campaigning the difference between the two.
Dismantling settlements would not necessarily end the occupation, allow right of return for refugees or settle the question of Jerusalem.
The use of the word "Goyim" in the article without translation is a sleight of hand on the part of Avnery. Although he is quoting others he should explain that it is a derogatory term for non-Jews and therefore exposes the racist way zionists perceive those outside their little ghetto, to which they have returned themselves, inside their wall.
Please support the boycott of Israeli goods, academia, sporting and cultural institutions if you believe in peace with justice.
