Diary Of A Wimpy Kid (PG)
Diary Of A Wimpy Kid is the male version of Mean Girls but for pre-teens.
Based on the best-selling illustrated novel by Jeff Kinney, the first in a series that has so far sold 28 million books, I smell a franchise in the works.
It chronicles the embarrassing adventures of Greg Heffley as he tries to survive middle school. Zachary Gordon is quite cute and charismatic as Greg, who has no redeeming qualities. He is mean and spiteful and frankly deserves what he gets as every scheme he devises to become popular backfires badly.
It's all enjoyable enough and young fans of the Wimpy Kid will love it.
