What is RSS?

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) allows you to keep tabs on when your favourite websites upload new content.

Instead of trawling around the net every day in search of the latest news and features, by using RSS feeds you are immediately informed when a new article is published. What is more, you are able to choose the kind of stories you are most interested in.

By using RSS whenever we publish a new article you are automatically alerted.

How to get started

The first thing you will need is an RSS news reader. This is the piece of software that automatically checks RSS feeds and then lets you know when new articles have been added to a website.

There are two kinds of RSS newsreaders. Both essentially do the same job but one is a downloadable application which sits on your main computer and the other is accessed using a web browser.

Once you have a news reader all that remains to be done is to choose which website and which content you are interested in keeping up-to-date with.

A list of the Morning Star's available feeds can be found in the adjacent right-hand column just below the search box. Click the link to subscribe to the feed or alternatively drag the URL of the feed into your news reader.

Feel free to choose as many sections as you like - after all, our RSS service is completely free.
